This Himitsu no Arashi-chan (ひみつの嵐ちゃん) has a share house segment and mannequin must-item segment, both hosted by Sakurai-san and Ninomiya-kun. As they enter, they complain about how long they had to wait on standby before being cleared to step onto the set.

To make up for the long wait, the director sends the guest to the door immediately – no light banter between the two hosts this time.

The guest is Yoshitaka Yuriko-san, who was in the movie GANTZ with Ninomiya-kun. She’s appeared on Himitsu no Arashi before, but not in the share house segment.

The past week’s number one single was AKB48‘s “So long!”, with 1,035,986 copies sold in its first week. At this rate, they might be saying “so long!” to those seven-digit first week sales. Let’s see if they get a second wind and figure out how to revive the brand.

E-girls were at number two, with “The Never Ending Story” selling 40,055 copies.

At #4 was Kis-My-Ft2’s “My Resistance -Tashikana Mono-/Unmei Girl”, adding 27,063 in its second week for a total of 343,376. This is a bit weak, but it comes on the back of spectacular first week sales.

SKE48’s “Choco no Dorei” was at #8 in its fourth week, tacking on 18,600 to bring its total to 623,986. It would be stunning to see a crossover, with this single holding stronger in the standings than “So long!” in the long run. That’s highly improbable, though.

For a little taste of enka, we’ve got Hikawa Kiyoshi-san at #13. His “Shigure no Minami” has sold 53,096 over two weeks.

Kashiwagi Yuki-san got #16 as “Short Cake” topped 121,352 copies sold in three weeks.

Right behind her, “Animals” by Generations from EXILE TRIBE now has a four-week total of 83,100.

KAT-TUN‘s “Expose” took #23 in its third week, reaching a total of 168,973 copies sold.

In albums, MISIA‘s “Super Best Records -15th Celebration-” got the top spot, selling 64,679 copies.

Behind her, “Oh! My! Goodness!” from V6 sold 53,730 copies.

One Direction stayed in the top 10, taking #8 with sales of “Take Me Home” just short of 200k – boasting a fifteen-week total of 199,820.

Just like last week, there was one very definite story in the ratings – one series that definitely hasn’t settled down. I’ll leave you to take a look, and I’ll discuss it under the cut. There were other interesting fluctuations (especially Nobunaga no Chef), but they aren’t quite outside the standard range for those dramas.

The ratings presented here are from much more complete articles on TokyoHive – the latest one of which is available here. Since I’m only interested in tracking a few dramas, this article serves to summarize those numbers.

A suspicious man walks into Shinokawa Shioriko (Gouriki Ayame)’s bookstore at the start of this episode of Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou (ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 – Biblia Rare Books Hall Case Files). He seems wary of the police as he approaches the shop, and he’s also in a rush.

He wants to sell a book, but can’t wait for them to appraise it and pay him – saying instead that he’s come back tomorrow before rushing out.

He book he entrusts into their care is one on formal logic – should be right up Shinokawa’s alley.

VS Arashi 2013.02.21 Review

VS Arashi (VS 嵐 ) is a game show hosted by the idol group Arashi, who compete against a different team of entertainers every week. Every so often (and a lot more often since the start of 2013), though, those entertainers are actually athletes, as they are in this episode. Before we get to them, though, Sakurai-san mentions that they’ll be doing MMDA on March 7th – that’s Most Most Dame (Useless) Arashi. They’re going to punish the member who was the most counterproductive through the past year. Last year, it was Sakurai-san himself, so perhaps he’s mentioning it with confidence – or hope – that they won’t pick him again.

Matsumoto-kun thinks that Ohno-san is the most obvious choice, but I didn’t catch the reasoning. Maybe MatsuJun is just trying to deflect blame from himself.

I also didn’t quite understand Ohno’s response, but it had Sakurai-san saying “kakkoii!” (Cool!)
