The top single for the past week was SMAP’s “Top of the World/Amazing Discovery”, which saw 122,850 copies sold. That seems a tad light, but I hesitate to opine since I haven’t had a chance to hear this single yet.

Perfume’s “Cling Cling” took #2 with 73,425 sold.

At #3, “The Power/Hishiki Heaven” from C-ute sold 55,570 copies.

I don’t remember seeing Boudan Shounendan in the standings before, but its single “BOY IN LUV” got #4, selling 42,494.

“Yoake no Ryuuseigun” (夜明けの流星群) from SCANDAL sold 32,013 copies at #5.

Himuro Kyosuke-san’s “ONE LIFE” merited mention at #6, selling 26,857.

In its second week, “Natsu no Free & East” by Nogizaka46 sold an additional 17,701 copies at #8 to bring its total to 439,323. Fairly standard second week for the -48 family, but perhaps a little underwhelming for Nogizaka46, considering they tend to run a bit ahead of the curve.

GLAY’s “BLEEZE” sold 5,447 in its second week, putting it at #14. Its running total is 50,525.

Also in its second week, “KiRa-KiRa Sensation!/Happy maker!” from μ’s cane in very close behind GLAY, selling 5,420 for a total of 54,519.

Taking #16 in week three, Kanjani8’s “Omoidama” added 5,361 to push its total to 186,533.

E-girls got #17 with “E.G. Anthem -We Are Venus-” selling 5,106 for a two-week total of 54,313.

The top single for the past week was Kanjani8’s “Omoidama”, which saw 168,866 copies sold. That seems shockingly low for the group, as I normally expect to see a 2- handle on their numbers. This didn’t happen when “Ai Deshita” closely preceded the “ER” release, so I have no idea what’s going on this time.

INFINITE’s “Last Romeo ~Kimi ga Ireba ii~” took second place with 47,262 sold.

At #3 was “Wake up!” from AAA, which sold 40,708 copies.

“Kimi ni Deaeta kara” from miwa was in at #4, selling 25,025.

Last week’s top single took #6 this week. Sandaime J Soul Brothers’ “R.Y.U.S.E.I.” sold an additional 9,402 copies to boost its two-week total to 171,576.

Fukuda Kouhei-san’s “Tougegoe” shot up to #10 from #28 in its fourteenth week, selling 3,855 to bring its total to 71,790. As expected, it’s not going to leave the top 30 without a fight or another Fukuda Kouhei single to take its place.

That pop was nothing compared to the one for NMB48’s “Takane no Ringo”, which went from #112 to #11 in its fifteenth week, selling 3,820 to reach 448,262 copies sold in total.

Jin’s “daze/days” was at #12 with 3,808 copies sold and a three-week total of 52,305.

Taking #16 in its tenth week, “Geragerapo no Uta” from King Cream Soda now boasts a total of 73,121.

After four weeks, Hoshino Gen-san’s “Crazy Crazy/Sakura no Mori” found itself at #23 with a running total of 49,236.

UVERworld took #25 as “Nanoka-me no Ketsui” sold an additional 2,447 in week three and reached a total of 58,315 copies sold.

The top single for the past week was “R.Y.U.S.E.I.” by Sandaime J Soul Brothers. It saw a very impressive 162,174 copies sold to take the top spot.

At #2 was DISH// with “Saisho no Koi ~Motetakute~/FLAME”, which sold 39,516 copies.

SHINee’s “Lucky Star” took #3, selling 35,837.

In its second week, Jin’s “daze/days” was at #7 and added 9,082 to its total, bringing it to 48,497.

UVERworld’s “Nanoka-me no Ketsui” took #12, selling an additional 4,732 to get its two-week total to 55,868.

Taking #19 in its ninth week, “Geragerapo no Uta” from King Cream Soda sold 3.796 copies and now has a total of 69,636 copies sold.

“ONE ~for the win~” from NEWS found itself at #21 this week after selling 3,329, lifting its three-week total to 193,467.

At #22, it was “Love wing bell/Dancing stars on me!” from μ’s, which sold 3,130 and boasts a three-week total of 55,328.

Arashi’s “Dare mo Shiranai” took #23 and has a total of 516,010 after five weeks.

Spending week three at #25, “Sweat/Answer” from Tohoshinki sold 2,900 and has a total of 137,684 copies sold.

In what was a somewhat soft week for releases, the top single was SMAP’s “Yes we are/Koko kara”, which sold 138,968 copies. That’s obviously on the weak side for the group, but they’re not the only ones languishing this week.

Take SEKAI NO OWARI at #2, for instance. Their “Honoo to Mori no Carnival” (炎と森のカーニバル) sold 66,469 compared to 100k and 79k for their previous two singles (with the 79k selling “RPG” released in the beginning of April, too).

After that, there were no significant new releases – all other new releases sold less than 25k.

Nogizaka46’s “Kizuitara Kataomoi” got #3, selling 24,668 in its second week for a total of 482,505. That’s pretty good for a -48 family group – more than 5% of first week sales compared to the usual 2-3%.

Let me just run through all the other members of the -48 family. SKE48’s “Mirai to wa?” took #12, selling 4,732 for a four-week total of 465,583. “Mae Shika Mukanee” from AKB48 was at #18, gaining two spots in the vacuum of releases and pushing its seven-week total to 1,140,117. Right behind #19 in its third week, NMB48’s “Takane no Ringo” now has a total of 418,720 copies sold. HKT48’s “Sakura de Tabeta” took #23 with a five-week total of 297,277. And finally, SKE48 got a second single into the top 30, with “Sansei Kawaii!” going from #93 to #25 by selling just 1,761 copies. Its twenty-one week total is 569,011.

Okay, with all those out of the way . . .

Nakayama Yuma-kun’s “High Five” took #16 in its second week, selling a respectable 3,522 to bring its total to 37,899. That’s a solid 10% second week.

The top single for the past week was Nogizaka46’s “Kizuitara Kataomoi” (気づいたら片想い), which sold an impressive 457,837 copies in its first week. That beats what the new SKE48 single did after two weeks and continues Nogizaka46’s streak of continually improving their results. Their previous single sold 395k in its first week, and that was already a huge jump.

At #2 was Korean hip-hop group B.A.P with “No Mercy” selling 40,026.

Nakayama Yuma-kun’s “High Five” took #3, seeing 34,377 copies sold. That’s about what I expected to see, though I continue to hope that Yuma-kun can broaden his fanbase in a way all too few soloists manage.

Speaking of famous solo acts, Hirai Ken-san’s collaboration with Amuro Namie-san, “Grotesque”, took #4 by selling 30,064 copies.

Fukuda Kouhei-san has a new single out! And considering his other single is still in the standings after seventy-six weeks, we might be seeing this one – “Tougegoe” (峠越え) –  for a while. It took #6 and sold only 12,855, but a slow start didn’t really stop the other one.

NMB48 took #8 with their “Takane no Ringo” selling an additional 8,904 to bring its two-week total to 415,483.

At #10 in its third week, “Mirai to wa?” from SKE48 sold 7,066 to boost its total to 460,851. They’d better step up their game now that Nogizaka46 has caught up with them. Are they getting equivalent promotion? I don’t really know the internals of the -48 family.

“S.A.K.U.R.A.” from Sandaime J Soul Brothers took #15, now with a two-week total of 113,703.

After five weeks, Kis-My-Ft2’s “Hikari no Signal” finds itself at #19 with its new total at 237,696.
