The number one single for the past week was Kis-My-Ft2‘s “Ki•Su•U•Ma•I ~KISS YOUR MIND~ /S.O.S (Smile On Smile)”, which sold 214,422 copies. Because of the recency of their previous single and the fact that this was part of a triple release (with an album and DVD also out last week), it’s difficult to read too much into this number. It looks like people felt compelled to buy all the above or, if anything, prefer the more robust products – the album and the DVD – over this single.

KARA took #2 with “Bye-bye Happy Days!” selling 65,588.

“Dakishimetai” from Choushinsei (超新星 – supernova) was at #2 with 47,352 copies sold.

At #6, RADWIMPS‘ “Dreamer’s High” sold 25,530.

Nogizaka46’s “Kimi no Na wa Kibou” held in at #9 in its third week, bringing its total to 268,080.

Arashi also managed to hang onto a top 10 spot, taking #10 with 12,032 copied of “Calling/Breathless” sold. The single’s four-week total is 853,467.

In its second week, HKT48’s debut single “Suki! Suki! Skip!” dropped to #11, adding 10,705 for a total of 260,852. This is an extremely poor second week, which means that while they mobilized fans to get out to buy early, they haven’t captured much interest outside of that core.

SKE48’s “Choco no Dorei”, on the other hand, continues to go strong at #14 in its ninth week. It added 8,899 for a grand total of 658,271. It should be noted that the latest AKB48 single, in its sixth week, has already dropped to #31 (and therefore out of the range I would normally cover).

Kuwata Keisuke-san’s “Yin Yang/Namida wo Buttobase!!/Oishii Himitsu” got #17, with its three-week total now 89,195. Hopefully, it’ll break 100k before dropping below #30.

In its seventh week, “Shigure no Minato” from Hikawa Kiyoshi-san got #28 with a overall total of 71,035.

Rounding out the singles, Yamashita Tomohisa-kun’s “Que Sera Sera” was at #30, bringing its three-week total to 107,832.

In albums, Kis-My-Ft2 took the top spot as “Good Ikuze!” sold 222,155 in its first week. Again, it’s tough to parse out what the number really means given the triple release, but since it will break platinum in two or three weeks I think it’s a decent sophomore effort.

Funky Monkey Babys‘ Last Best” was at #2, selling 168,862. I’m not really sure what to say about strong sales for a group that’s going out of commission so . . . yeah.

NMB48’s “Teppen Tottan de” got #5 in its fifth week, adding 20,135 copies sold for a total of 379,133.

Finally, sakanaction’s “sakanaction” spent its third week at #7, selling an additional 15,366 to make it a grand total of 125,493.
